How To Become A Mega Action Taker

How to become a mega MASSIVE ACTION taker

A couple of weeks ago at the Fitness Info Summit, I did a little experiment from the stage.

I wanted to do 3 things:

1.  See who the biggest action takers in the room were.

2.  Discover WHY some people wont take action to get something they REALLY want.

3.  Show how to OVERCOME that “thing” that keeps you from taking action when you want and need to.

Here’s some pictures to “show” you exatly what happened…
Check it out.

So what lesson did we learn here?

picture-20Well, after the bum-rush, I asked the audience 4 questions, and if they answered YES to all of them, to raise their hand and let me know.

Question 1.  Were they at FBS09, and if so, did they want the $500 bucks I offered to anyone who comes up on stage and gets it.

Question 2.  Did they run up, or hesitate.

picture-17Question 3.  Did they want the 1 year of coaching I was giving away today at FIS

Question 4. Did they run up, or hesitate.

So I asked 3 of the trainers with their hands up to come on stage and explain why they “hesitated” again today.

And the answers were pretty interesting…

picture-18One trainer had someone in their way… In other words, he let an obstacle keep her from what she REALLY wanted.

Another trainer said that she was scared, of running up with everyone else.

So basically FEAR got in the way.

And the third trainer just didn’t move fast enough, and lost out to a faster action taker.

picture-19It’s so crazy how that little experiment represented all the reasons people just DON’T get what hey REALLY want.

FEAR, HESITATION, and letting OBSTACLES get in the way.

So how the hell do we “shut off” that little voice in our head that tells us, “you can’t”
“You’re not good enough”
“You’re gonna fail”

And not just turn the voice off, but set you mind to automatic success mode

First of all, don’t turn away from your fear…

Look it dead in the eye, and move towards it.
It’s where ya need to go.

Now that your looking at it, visualize yourself doing what causes the fear, but feeling AMAZING while your doing it.

Visualize this with intense emotion and try to make it feel as REAL as possible.

Do it for 2 minutes, 3 times a day (Right when you wake up, in the middle of the day, and as you fall asleep at night) for 7 days.

When your done, your brain will be reprogrammed for AUTOMATIC SUCCESS.

(I’ll spare you the detailed scientic reason why this works)
Just trust me, it does.

I used to be SCARED outta my mind about public speaking…
I’m talking major anxiety attacks.

Then one of my mentors (John Assaraf from the movie The Secret) told me how to kick fear in the nuts and make it disappear.

And all it took was 3 times a day, of visualizing with INTENSE feeling, for 7 days an I was “cured.”

Give it a try, and you’ll VAPORIZE those fears that you let hold you back…

Notice how I say that you “let” hold you back.

Leave a comment with what you think… I want to know.

And AFTER you leave a comment, be sure to check out

  1. Hey Steve!
Way to put things in perspective! Really made me think about stepping up my actions and trying more than I think I can do.

    Thanks bro

  2. Hey steve
    Great post buddy.

Had i been at the info summit, i definately would of been first to your coaching programme gift. This is a cool exercise that we all should be doing, we put up far too many barriers to stop us achieving and as a result things never happen, so i will be trying this out from today!

    Cheers Pal

  3. Great stuff Steve,

What I have been doing that keeps my eye on the prize and push through those moments of hesitation or fear is; I have written my main goal on a 3×5 card and I keep that card with me everywhere I go. I repeat that goal 10 times in the morning, throughout the day and 10 times before going to bed. I even keep it under my pillow when I sleep at night. I make sure that I say it with feeling. Saying with feeling and visualizing it is SO important. You want to get goose bumps. So when feelings of fear, self doubt or hesitation creep up I bring those goose bumps back, get excited and push through. Those self-doubting beliefs that you created in your mind will keep you frozen in time if you let them. It is all really up to you. How bad do you want it?

  4. Steve,

Again, you’re right on. Everything you say on your website/blog is so true. More people need to read your blog, and comment on it because when you get a group of people like you have, when they all start masterminding, and commenting on your stuff, everyone is going to benefit. Keep up the good work and keep blogging. Your stuff is the best and right on.

  6. Damn Steve, how correct you are….

It took me 5 years to finally leave my job….

Every year it got harder and harder b/c I was making more and more $$ at my job and I was scared of what would happen if I left it.

I really hit rock bottom though and could not stand the pain of missing my kids anymore AND, the biggest one was I would feel like I couldn’t walk the talk for my kids, so if I ever told them to go for greatness, how could they ever take my advice if I never did so myself?

    Thanks Bruddah!

  7. Steve because of you I face my fears more and more each day. One of my biggest fears was once yours before, “public speaking.” Yikes! You will know that I fear it because I try to avoid it like the plague. And once I’m up there I turn red, stutter, and shake like a maniac. I’m going to try your approach and really hope it works so I can dominate the stage like you. You are such an inspiration to us all. Thanks man!

  9. Cheers Steve

    Over time….

I wanted to work in fitness full time so I quit my job

I wanted to work for myself 100% so I left a gym

I wanted to make more money so I spent more on my education and used debt effectively

I’ve got so much more I want to accomplish and scaring the shit out of me is one great method to do that.

    Thanks for the reminder mate

  10. Great post Steve and it was funny watching these people. Had i known about this i would have sat closer to the front. These guys knew you were going to do it and arrived early and positioned themselves accordingly ( maybe next year put it somewhere different).

It is how most people live their lives unfortunately. Freedom is what we are all after and you have to overcome all of the above if you wish to claim your freedom.

  11. About what Zach said,

Its so true and i consider him one of the best out their taking no prisoners.

But it is really humbling to know that even he and Steve and all the ones at the top at one point in their lives felt fear.

But the difference is that they eventually stood up to the bully (fear) cuz thats what it is, a f*ckn bully and looked at it in the eyes and said “lets dance bitch”.

I am on my own journey right now and have decided to dance with this bitch. And you know what…I am getting better and better.

As a matter of fact the bitch(fear) is starting to get tired while my conditioning is getting better and better.

And like every bully that you stand up to, even though it might get the best of you, if you punch it in the nose and let it know that its in for a fight, it eventually backs down and goes looks for someone that is easier and wont give it a good fight.

The year 2010 is finally going to be my breakout year.

And its all because of the DECISION I made to face the bully a couple of years ago no matter what, because i’d rather die on my feet then make a so called living on my knees.

    2010 here i come. OOOOOOOOAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!

  12. I Love This Stuff Steve! It really shows how much of an action taker you are too because after I heard your interview with John Assaraf in the Manifesto I went out and got his Having it All book and read it. Then at FIS I found out that you condensed his 21 day formula to a 7 day ALL OUT kick fear in the face system that is killer!

The best part about all of it is that life is SO MUCH MORE INTERESTING and ENTERTAINING when YOU EMBRACE FEAR and GO AFTER YOUR DREAMS! There is a reason people love roller coasters, sky diving, bungie jumping, fights, and extreme sports (my little brother is a professional bull rider and I think he’s f-in crazy, but he loves it). Because the adrenaline rush that we get when we feel fear is addictive man! I freakin love it and it’s even better that by living in an exciting way I now know I’ll live a more exciting life and I’ll achieve more success because of it!

    Talk to you soon bro!
