Steve - seriously,
When you were on the back of my pedicab, I thought for sure that your email would end up unread in the piles of nonsense that I receive.
THANK YOU - For your spirit, your unending hard work on account of us! Your emails are always "speaking" to me. I am still sitting back 'watching' and learning but I know for sure when I move forward it's going to be your tools I invest in! Thanks for all the free stuff too!

you know, i usually never write on these blogs. I am one to just scroll and read. but man, i cant even describe that feeling i got when you told these two stories. The point behind them shouldnt even ALLOW you to ever hae a bad day again. To know that for the rest of your life you have absolutely no control over your body again has to be the most disturbing thought to have. Thank you steve for sharing this moment with me and everyone else. I t will definately make me think twice about ANY bad moment...

Thanks for sharing this Steve!

After FIS I told my girlfriend about these stories, but now I'll have her watch the video...you a do a lot better job of telling the story than I did.

It's crazy how much perspective makes a difference in life.

I definitely don't have anything like the zookeeper or your friend Marcus, but I recently had an experience that really put things into perspective for me personally.

It's crazy, but sometimes the worst things really make you aware of how good your life is and how blessed you are. Here is the brief version of my story. Last week I was heading up to Las Vegas to watch my younger brother compete in the PBR Finals. My whole family was up there because this was the first time he had qualified for the Finals and that's a big deal...it's basically the World Series of Bull Riding. Anyway, it's only a few hours drive away from where I am live in AZ so my girlfriend and I drove up there. I got pulled over coming down the Hoover Dam because they said I was speeding(bogus because the speed limit had just changed, but okay...not the first time I've been pulled over) Then while they are running my license they ask me to step out of my truck...this had never happened before for a speeding ticket? Turned out I had forgotten to pay a speeding ticket from 3 years earlier that I had gotten on a different road trip through Nevada and there was a $500 warrant out for my arrest. So I got arrested for an old speeding ticket and got taken to County Lockup in Las Vegas. Not a place you want to be ever, but especially not in the middle of the night. Just in case you haven't been to jail before...County is for the Felons, not the Misdameanors so I was there with people tripping hard on drugs, guys in for armed robbery, drug dealers, murderers, and in Vegas...a whole bunch of hookers. I ended up spending 30 hours there and it just happened to be my one year anniversary with my girlfriend.

Talk about putting things into perspective! All I could think about was How blessed I am in my life and how much I love my family and my girlfriend, How great it is that I own my business and help other people live a better life, How the smallest things are so amazing when you no longer have them available to you, How small and insignificant my "problems" are on a day to day basis, and How great it feels to know that I am in control of my life and everything that happens to me is a result of what I have either done or not done (Action Taker vs. Reactor)

Again, I know this is no comparison to the stories that you have given, but it really changed the way that I view things and I know it will help me live a better life and have much more success in business!

As odd as it sounds, that's what it feels like coming back from a combat zone. You get back after being shot at and blown up, and everything that people freak out about here seem so miniscule. I remember during a blizzard in Minnesota, my truck sliding off the road doing a 360 in the ditch and coming back on to the road I just kept driving like nothing happened.

Unfortunately that hightened sense of awareness drops off over time. But like you said Steve it's all about perspective. I try to keep perspective in everything.

Good stories and for some sick reason I think of the SAW movies with that lion guy :p

Now I know why I never chose the life of a lion tamer...

Wow great story on your mate and really does make us realise just how fortunate we are every day that we get up and get to do what we love everyday...

Rockin post Steve! My bad days are nothing compared to what those guys went through. Everyday I wake up feeling grateful to be healthy, fit, and injury free. Good days or bad days...we all learn something from them and must always see the light in everything we experience.

If you want to hear or even watch more stories similar to Steve's that will help take you out of that "bad day" slump check out that TV show called "I Survived" on the BIO channel. Talk about having a bad day. This show really makes you feel lucky to have a normal bad day.
