Vaporizing Fear And Doubt

p42-2

p42-1I had to cut that video a little short cuz I heard my 2 year old crying upstairs.

But this is WAY important for NEVER having to put up with FEAR and DOUBT again… Ever.

Ok, so have you ever REALLY wanted to achieve something but were overcome with fear and all the reasons why it WOULD’NT work…

Well, the good news is, I’m gonna to show you exactly how to EASILY make those feelings PISS OFF.

Here’s how it works…

There’s a part of your brain called the cyber cybernetic mechanism (I know, big word for a guy who was in special ed)

Every time this part of your brain senses “change” it sends powerful hormones to make you feel fear and doubt.

p42-3And because your sub-conscious mind cannot tell the difference between a thought and reality… If you even think about success, it sends those crappy hormones.

Well, that was cool when we were cavemen, but now it just sucks.

But the GOOD NEWS is you can totally “shut it off”

You see, since your mind can’t tell the different between your thoughts and reality, you can totally trick your brain by visualizing.

In other words… When you visualize yourself achieving your goals… And do it with GREAT EMOTION (very important) your brain thinks it’s your reality.

So when you actually start taking steps towards achieving it… Your mind can’t tell that your environment’s changing…

p42-4I’m gonna let you in on a little secret.
(I feel like we’re close, so I can tell you)

Public speaking was my #1 biggest fear.

And when I agreed to speak at Fitness Business Summit 09, I had major anxiety…

I knew I would get up there and present, but I didn’t want to feel that SUPER INTENSE FEAR.
(I hate that feeling)

So I called my friend John Assaraf (from the movie the Secret) and here’s what I said…

>> Me: “Dude, I’m speaking in a month and I’m scared shitless… seriously bro… I’m gonna pass out or something.”

(Just the other day I walked to the front of the room at a big event and nearly had an anxiety attack… How the hell was I gonna a get up and speak in front of 350 people) WHAT SHOULD I DO????”

>> John Assaraf:  “I wan’t you to… Visualize yourself giving your presentation and LOVING IT… Just feeling great… The more real it seems, the better…  do this p42-5for 21 days before you present.”

>> Me:  “That’s it???!!??”

>> John Assaraf:  “Yep… That’s it.”

>> Me: “How many times a day?”

>> John Assaraf: “Do this first thing in the morning, once in the afternoon, and when you go to bed.”

>> Me: “Really… Why will that work…”

>> John Assaraf: “Because the part of your brain that causes your body to release POWERFUL FEAR hormones in new situations will think that you’ve already done this a ton of times… So it’s not new… and there is no reason to be scared.”

SO CHECK THIS OUT…

Not only did I NOT feel any fear when I was on stage… I didn’t even get nervous the day of, or the day before!

p42-6

p42-7So there you have it… Now you can STARE FEAR IN THE FACE and say, “BRING IT ON BITCH”

And on another note… Since the most successful dudes in the world spend the most amount of time out of their comfort zone

Embrace the discomfort…. Welcome it.  Get excited about it cuz it means your making progress.

A certain level of discomfort is NORMAL.  You can’t achieve your dreams and reach your goals staying in your comfort zone…

I know you already know that but I wanted to tell you anyway…

Just like YOU tell your boot camp and personal training clients…

“When you first start it’s gonna be hard and you’re gonna get really sore…”

“But it’s gonna get easier and easier and eventually you’ll look forward to it”

Rock on!

Steve

Be sure to leave a comment with the fears that you HAVE or WILL OVERCOME!

  7. Hey that’s me in that video! haha dude that you talked about have been a life changer for me.

I seriously have not been this motivated before. I used to get motivated and be good for a couple weeks and then I would drop off but using those techniques has made a world of difference. I have much more direction and every thing I do is to achieve my life’s dream now.

That has added so much more enthusiasm and passion in my life and work and has made a tremendous difference. Visualizing has made so many tasks that much easier and as simple as it sounds has made me realize what I’m doing and why I am doing it. Simple yes but so many people have a misconeption of why they are doing what they are doing (ie. doing their ‘job’ to just pay the bills and get by).

Btw Steve you rocked it up on stage man and did an amazing presentation!

  11. Hell Ya! Love the visualization idea! Definitely starting that today!

Just last weekend I went through and spent a whole day going through and writing down and getting a clear picture of what my life’s goal is so the timing on this is perfect!

Definitely agree with the comfort zone thing! That one thing really is the difference between just getting by and becoming that top 1% I had always heard that, but until I really started to experience it I had a hard time truly understanding it!

Now it’s like second nature…I know that if I’m comfortable then something is wrong because I’m not progressing and if I keep that up then I will stop growing as a person and especially as an entrepreneur!

Thanks Steve! Looking forward to making the visualization technique part of my daily routine!

  12. Hi Steve,

Awesome post man! Thanks for sharing this, I to have a massive fear of public speaking… If you hadn’t of shared this I would have thought that public speaking comes naturally to you!

It’s good to hear that you to have to get out of your comfort zone like everyone else… It’s easy to think you’re the only one who fears public speaking… good stuff Steve.

Just got to keep pushing and welcome the fear.

  13. Frickin awesome post Steeeve.

This is close to the bone stuff man, I thought Toohey was the Yoda on all stuff up in the head.

One of my favs is Tony Robbins “Get The Edge” – one of the CD’s takes you through a lot of that stuff by giving you the right set of emotions and then visualising what you want to achieve and doing some incantations to finish with. I’m sometimes in the park looking like a right dildo shouting them out loud but it does get you in the right frame of mind.

I just try and practice it as much as possible to create new healthy thoughts more of the time.

    Thanks again mate

    Mike

  14. ..and about your question

Sometimes my biggest fear is actually trying anything new man.

Like I’m doing these bootcamps now – just starting with all my billboards and some of my stalling has been fear of failing..or perhaps even succeeding?!?!?! It’s like that speech in Coach Carter!

But I am doing it and things are working well now and I’m sure they’ll continue with more hard work.

Thanks for setting me on the right track Steve

As for public speaking – will have to tackle that one as well in time

Your energy is brillant and contagious…love it

Its all about TAKING ACTION NOW!!!

  16. Yo Steve!

My BIGGEST fear is quitting my job and taking the leap of faith with the human billboard, Ive done personal training for LA fitness in the past and it SUCKED so everytime I think about that I immediately feel the feel for doing the bootcamp!!

But now every day, ALL day everyday I am going through my head, visualising about talking to some random people, and enjoy doing it, heck i even talk out loud, imagining Im there and enjoy doing it! You know what happened? I HAD A HUUUUUUUGE BUZZ AFTER and That caused me to finish my sales page for my bootcamp, write a blog article, contact people whom I need to learn from and with more experience!

Im still buzzing man, IM GOING TO KILL IT!!! YEAHH!!!!!!

TOMORROW IM GOING TO WRITE AND FINISH THE FREE REPORT TO GIVIE TO MY LIST……

  17. Great information, Steve. For more details on using these techniques, I recommend any of the Silva Mind Control Method books or tape programs. (It’s about controlling your own mind, not someone else’s mind.) They’re available in nearly every bookstore.

The more realistic you can make it in your imagination, the better the results. I could give more specifics, but the books will explain it better than I ever could.

  18. Great Wisdom to share with people to get them to take a another step forward. I used to have a fear of public speaking too. Visualization and imagination is key. Thanks for the insight Steve!

It will not stop me from anything but either way it is there. This helped me out a lot. You fuckin rock steve! So fear… It’s you and me baby, lets dance!
