Guest post by Leanne Ellington
Dude my girl Leanne Ellington is on a friggin ROLL so I just had to share this “Hitting the nail on the head” guest post with you… (I know she just did a guest post a week ago, but this is the SHIZNIT)
Enjoy -
One of the most powerful teaching modes out there is to simply learn from other people’s experiences-whether good or bad. You can learn a lot by watching how others execute tasks, mingle with their inner-circle, and manage, micromanage, or even dictate.
After watching one of my most favorite villains time and time again kick-ass, take names, intimidate the crap out of people, and then still inevitably fail, I think we can take away a lot from… Dr. Evil!
Let’s take a look at his most memorable action steps…
Gather the World’s Most Deadliest Assassins…
Dr. Evil formed his crew by getting together a group of the finest, most inherently evil, most cunning and ruthless individuals on the planet, and they would take care of his dirty work for him.
He chose these people particularly because he knew that no one else would get the job done properly, efficiently, and according to his precise instructions.
He didn’t waste his time or try to save nickels and dimes by getting people half as good. He knew what he wanted, and he went out there and got the best.
Are you messing around with… bonehead staff, subpar employees, negative and pessimistic colleagues and friends, or human billboards that aren’t pulling their weight? Do you arm yourself with the best people that are capable of doing things
the way you want them to be done?
Are you involved in masterminds, fitness and boot camp marketing conferences and events, and hanging around people that possess the qualities that you also find important and wish to possess yourself?
If you couldn’t answer, “YES” to all these questions, you need to gather your group of “deadly assassins” that can help you get wherever it is you are going after.
You have the choice to hang out with the crème de la crème, the best of the best-that goes for people working for you or with you. Haters, crabs, and life-suckers will only move you backwards. It’s as simple as that.
Prepare for Total World Domination…
When you think about your business or your eminent success, are you picturing tomorrow, next week, possibly 5 months from now? If you want to build a business, and I mean really build a business, ya have to think “BIG”-the “BIG KAHUNA“-the end all, be all -the “BIG ENCHILIDA”.
I was on the phone with Steve Hochman the other day, and he said….
“Leanne, what is the one thing in the world that you would absolutely love to do for a living, even if you think it’s out of reach?
What is that one thing that you would actually do for free because you love it so much?”
You see, this line of questioning hadn’t even entered my mind before, because I was so busy focusing in on the “right now”-I was thinking myopically. I hadn’t even let my mind wander into the big picture or anything for that matter beyond the present.
This question forced me to really think long and hard about What the hell I really want?
- Do I really want to still be training clients when I am 65?
- Do I really want to be waking up at 5am for the rest of my life? Is that something that I actually love doing? “HELL NO IT’S NOT!”
He reminded me that I have to always be thinking BIG things. I have to be constantly preparing to be HUGE-to seek out whatever the hell it is I truly love and feel passionate about doing-and just go “FU%KING” do it!
Sometimes it takes that third party or outside source to start preparing us for market or business or frikkin’ world domination. Are you setting yourself up for something big, or are you obsessing about the present? Think about it.
Sharks With Frikkin’ Laser Beams…
Most spawns of evil equip themselves with knives, guns, and explosives. Dr. Evil used sharks with laser beams attached to their heads. I bet you will never confuse him with your average run-of-the-mill villain ever again.
Not only did he use the most uncommon means of ammunition known to man, but he managed to maintain a reputation-this unforgettable flare that no other villain has been able to do since.
Now I’m not suggesting that you go get a gun license or learn the art of nunchucks, “But don’t be so damn afraid to think outside the box!”
When was the last time you purchased a service because they were an exact carbon copy of their competitor? It can be that you never have.
In fact, we as humans tend to look for….
Something eye-catching, something with a hook that differentiates this particular company from the next….
What are you doing in your business or your marketing that is outside the box or sets you apart?
If you come up short, stop what you are doing, and go make a list of ways to set yourself apart from your competitors, and start implementing them….
Okay, you can finish reading this post first…
The Diet Coke of Evil…
This kind of piggy-backs on the shark/laser beam approach, but just roll with me for a minute.
Now, I’m not telling you to become deceitful, conniving, or downright a bad businessman, but sometimes you need to work smarter-not harder-to outsmart your competition.
Instead of going to pointless leads groups or networking events like your competitor, are you building strategic alliances with non-competing companies?
Instead of spending oodles of dollars on magazine ads or newspaper articles are you utilizing things like Steve’s Human Billboards or Craigslist and your knowledge of compelling headlines, kick-ass testimonials, and a can’t-say-no call to action?
Instead of staying threatened by your competitor are you doing research and keeping up with what’s going on in their biz and staying on your toes? Are you out-thinking your competition?
Cryogenically Freeze Yourself…
What would happen to your business if you were sick, or out of town, or perhaps cryogenically frozen for thirty frikkin’ years?
Does your business have legs? Would you be able to EEK out a living if you were incapacitated?
You should be taking small but measurable baby steps to get yourself out of the crap-load of tasks that you don’t need to be personally doing, and outsourcing it to others.
Model after people like Steve, Chris McCombs, and Bedros— they focus their efforts on making multiple 6-figure boot camps and traveling around the country making frikkin’ major motion pictures.
They aren’t bogged down with the little stuff-they focus on that small percentage of things that only the can do-the creative stuff, the jazz.
Think about taking action steps such as creating operations manuals, making exact how-to
outlines for various tasks, and finding a competent team to barter with or pay to do them.

Wicked post Leanne with great advice.
If you don’t know where to start on this stuff. If you don’t have that go get ‘em attitude. Get yourself a mentor. Behind every successful person is a mentor and behind them is a mentor and behind them.. you get the idea. Learn from the people who have already done it.
Why make the same mistakes they have when you can learn from them and do it the right way the first time. I learnt this early on and right now I have Steve and Bedros behind me as coaches and mentors and it is unbelievable. As Bedros said on a phone call, ” It is literally impossible not to succeed if you use this team (Him and Steve).” They will not accept it and nor will I for that matter.
Having a mentor and coach by joining Fit Body Boot Camp has made such a significant change in my mentality, how I go about tasks and what I focus on. And that is literally building the foundation for me for the rest of my life. Thanks Steve and Bedros.
