If you are not willing to help others it is going to be that much harder to get them to help you. At FBS '09 the presenters preached and preached about this and it really stuck in my head. So what did I do when I got home. I gave out some free training. The only thing I asked for at the time was some testimonials. Has that ever paid back! One is a photographer and does lots of weddings and has already been telling and referring a couple people to me and another has experience in website designed and graphics etc and anytime I want anything regarding that she will do it for me. It was unconditional help I gave them and they saw that. If you are talking with the big guys and you want their help, don't ask for it! Help them or offer to help them without asking or expecting anything else in return. Whether they accept your offer or not they will see you are genuine and interested in actually helping them and that you don't have a side agenda. Try it and see for yourself what happens. ps.
