I REALLY like reading your blog and your ideas are amazing;
However, don&#039;t you think your being a bit harsh with your hiring concepts?  Don&#039;t you think that a potential employee who could market themselves to YOU might become your competition very quickly?

I would tend to think that as a business owner, you would want to look for someone with the ultimate &quot;potential&quot; to be groomed into a trainer that is loyal and works hard for YOU, your facility and YOUR clients.  As a former business owner myself, (I was in the music business before fitness and owned a very profitable night club), I tried to hire people that I could easily train to follow my systems.


I looked for staff that would be loyal and honest to me and my venue and that would treat me and my customers with respect.
I had a staff that worked different areas of my business so that everything ran like a well oiled machine.  I did not care if they did not understand my marketing, only my sales system and customer service policies. I&#039;d be skeptical of hiring staff that could possibly be coming to work for me, just because they were trying to learn my systems and later become my competition.</description>

Great post! Its amazing how much we as trainers boast about our experience and certifications but in reality our clients don&#039;t give a shit about it. All prospects and clients care is that they are getting results from a kick ass instructor who is gonna give them what they want.

I can&#039;t tell you how many times I pissed off other trainers when I 1st started out as a trainer with only 1 certification in a chain health club with so many trainers. I never once bragged about my experience (hell I was 18 when I started), what I did was promised and delivered results. Ultimately I became the top trainer in sales in the entire district. That pissed off so many trainers esp the ones with degrees and a ton of certifications.

Hell a lot of those master trainer clients wanted to train with me because they saw the results and how much fun we were all having. I may have been inexperienced as trainer but I brought a ton of money to the gym and became a GM at just the age of 19.

So yeah bro I will def be looking for that type of presentation when I get resumes sent to me.</description>
